New Workshop for Adult Students:
INSPIRED BY AUDUBON
JOHN JAMES AUDUBON's vivid depictions of Nature's creatures - in particular his studies of birds - are unique masterworks in both art and natural history. His deep understanding of his subjects' anatomy and habitat, as well as his descriptive attention to detail, have fascinated and delighted viewers for nearly two centuries.
For this workshop, we will be inspired by Audubon's work (originally watercolors, that were then translated into colored etchings) to illustrate birds in the master's style. Participants will learn to use graphite pencil to make contour sketches of our subjects and the elements in their surroundings, then embellish with colored pencils to bring life to our drawings.
Both beginning and experienced artists are welcome to join us in an exploration of this long-revered artist and naturalist.
