CREATIVE & INFORMATIVE SESSIONS FOR AGES 18+
ART SUPPLY BASICS - FALL 2026
NEW THIS FALL! Join me for workshops highlighting the properties and possibilities of a variety of drawing and painting materials! After 3 decades as a professional artist, and 20 years of college teaching, I have amassed a wealth of knowledge and experience that I'd love to share. So let's explore and discover together.
Each workshop will focus on a different group of media. We will talk about what each one does best, the variety of types and best brands available, and how their qualities affect the way they perform. I will demonstrate how to use each one, and together we will practice a variety of techniques, both traditional and experimental, so you can get a first-hand feeling for how to work with them. We'll finish up the workshop by creating a mixed-media project that features the techniques we have learned.
You will develop a practical understanding of how these materials work, how different products compare, and how to make informed decisions when purchasing supplies. Each workshop combines technical information with hands-on testing, giving you the opportunity to experience the unique properties of each material.
COLORFUL DRAWING MATERIALS
Featuring dry pastels, oil pastels and colored pencils.
Sunday, October 18 - 2 to 5 PM
WATER-BASED PAINTS
Featuring watercolors, acrylic paints, and water-mixable oil paints.
Sunday, December 6 - 2 to 5 PM
Students may attend one or both sessions.
All levels of experience are welcome.
Tuition is $95 per workshop, featuring 3 hours of guided instruction each time.
You may wish to bring a sketchbook to take notes in, but all art materials are provided for classroom use..
