We are very excited to announce two special workshops this winter in CHARACTER DESIGN and CHARACTER CREATION for ages 9 to 13, presented by guest teacher Harry Wisner (bio below) and facilitated by Catherine Carter.
In the CHARACTER DESIGN workshop, we will use graphite and colored pencils to explore three major aspects of this art form - shape, silhouette, and color - through demonstrations, group practice sessions, and personal creation time. The process expands during the CHARACTER CREATION workshop, when students learn to develop their characters through more complex consideration of personal traits and interactions.
There is a limit of 8 students per workshop.
Students may register for one or both workshops.

Tuition is $59 including all materials.

All of the illustrations on this page are by Harry Wisner. Harry has been developing his own characters for more than 10 years. He is currently a junior at Old Rochester Regional High School, and has studied at the Rhode Island School of Design, the Marion Art Center, Candace French Design, and here at Catherine Carter Art School. He publishes his work on Tumblr and Twitter at @squidthesquidd. His career goal is a position as an elementary school art teacher.
