ABOUT THE ART SCHOOL
Here's what makes my program so unique!
• OPTIONS FOR INDIVIDUALITY - In my classes, students have the option of following along with a demonstrated project or selecting their own from my wide variety of reference options. In either case, each artwork allows for the students' own individual preferences in such steps as colors and backgrounds.
• EXPERIENCE WITH MULTIPLE MATERIALS - I offer a wide variety of art supplies, including graphite pencil, colored pencil, colored markers, watercolor paint, acrylic paint, and paper collage. This gives students a chance to try a range of wet and dry media to discover what each one does best and see what they are drawn to naturally.
• INDIVIDUALIZED INSTRUCTION - My classes are capped at 8 seats, allowing for personalized attention tailored to each student's interests and level of experience.
• UNIQUE LOCATION - My school is located at Hatch Street Studios, a fully renovated, former textile mill originally constructed in 1907. The building is now home to the Hatch Street Artists Association, a blossoming creative community of more than 65 professional artists and artisans. My sunny and spacious classroom, once filled with looms staffed by diligent workers, reveals its previous identity through its giant windows and beautiful wooden floors.
• CONVENIENT HOURS - My classes meet after school, on weekends, during school vacations, and over the summer, so they fit conveniently into busy schedules.
• YEARS OF EXPERIENCE - I first opened my doors here at Hatch Street Studios in 2018! With an M.F.A. in Painting, I have been teaching drawing and painting to all ages for more than 25 years.
• ONGOING RELATIONSHIPS - I am honored that my students often take my classes for years! All ages seem to enjoy the imaginative freedom and encouraging environment of my classroom.
